Second Saturdays Special Guest Artist Gathoni Kamau-Devers Closing Reception

In addition to our 6 incredible artist members, guest artist Gathoni Kamau-Devers. Gathoni will be closing her exhibition at RBA. Gathoni is from from Oakland, California and of Kenyan ancestry. Her objective as an artist is to tell the stories of her community and unsung people throughout Black American history. She uses a loose and painterly style to focus on the rawness and authenticity of the subject. She draws from historical references, slave narratives, family archives, childhood memories, improvisation and real life moments.
